Supercharge Me - The Movie

“Supercharge Me!” in Seattle

Saturday, August 18th, 2007

I’m in beautiful Seattle for the first time for a special screening of “Supercharge Me!” this evening at Bastyr University. Yesterday, I went to the Phinney Ridge Farmer’s Market with Monika Kinsman, the founder and director of the Raw Network of Washington. It was a gorgeous, sunny day and we had a great time meeting people and handing out information about the screening along with Larabar samples (the yummy raw fruit & nut bars).

Today we’re heading to the University District Farmer’s Market, then the Pike Place Market, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary this weekend! The film screening is at 6 p.m. this evening, followed by a Q & A, then there’s an after-party at Chaco Canyon Cafe (one of Seattle’s top organic, vegan restaurants). Seattle showgirls will greet guests and there will be gourmet raw food samples from Chaco Canyon, Cafe Flora (Seattle’s #1 Vegetarian Restaurant), and dalene’s *cuisine for clarity (an upcoming gourmet raw foods restaurant on the Eastside). If you’re in the area, please come join us!

From Seattle, I’m heading to San Francisco then to Ft. Bragg (Mendocino) to show the film at the Vibrant Living Expo (August 23-26) along with the other winners of the Hollywood Raw Lifestyle Film Festival. This will be a wonderful event at the Living Light Culinary Arts Institute with raw food authors, experts, chefs, etc. from around the world.

Then I’ll fly back to Florida to show the movie at the Central Florida Film Festival in Kissimmee on Saturday, Sept 1.

Hope to see you at one of these exciting events!

Raw Food Lifestyle Reduces Global Warming

Sunday, August 5th, 2007

Last year a UN Report showed that the raw vegan diet is the best deterrent to global warming and promoting sustainability. This video by Glen Beck discusses how Al Gore, and other leaders, have ignored the fact that eating low on the food chain deters global warming (8 minutes).

The average meat eater is responsible for the use of 4,000 gallons of water a day. The average vegetarian uses 300 gallons of water per day. Per year that comes to about 1.5 million gallons for a meat eater and 100,000 for a vegetarian. Quite a dramatic difference!

So… is the raw living foods lifestyle “An Inconvenient Truth?”
