My head is still spinning from the Sarasota Film Festival. After two sold out shows and an ENCORE screening in the biggest theater (280 seats) in the Hollywood 20 multiplex, I’m feeling very excited about moving forward with SUPERCHARGE ME! and taking it to audiences all over the world. I was very happy to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback. We even got some of it on film, which will be posted here on the site soon. LARABAR (the original fruit & nut bar) was a product sponsor, so everyone got to enjoy samples during the movie.
Some highlights:
I was able to get the film into the hands of a few big distributors at the festival. A CBS Radio film reviewer saw the movie and loved it. He said he’d be sending me a review soon. I met so many awesome filmmakers, including Kris Carr & Brian Fassett (Crazy Sexy Cancer), Ingrid Veninger (Hotel Vladivostok), Bob Giovanelli (Tis the Season), Ransom Riggs (Spaceboy) and Simon Reynolds (Uriah). I was interviewed on ABC, SNN and WTSP (Tampa Bay’s 10) television, as well as WMNF and WIBQ Radio. There were articles in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Pelican Press, Bradenton Herald and Positive Change Magazine. “Supercharge Me!” is even being considered for a new film festival in gorgeous Portofino, Italy. The events during the 10 days were fantastic and I got to dance with other filmmakers almost every night. What a blast!
Most of all, I’m grateful to all the people who have contributed to the film in so many ways. I couldn’t have done it without my friends and family. And the people I met in San Diego, where much of the film was shot, were so generous in sharing their personal stories of healing. A big thank-you to my Sarasota friends who were a big part of the project and then came out to support it. You are my foundation!
Coming up soon, I will have a lot of great photos and video clips posted here, so stay tuned…
