New Photos and Articles!

May 11th, 2007

We’ve been working diligently on the Web site to keep it current. Take a look at the Photo section. You may even be in there! Also check out the Media section with lots of articles and some radio interviews, as well as a TV segment. We have more TV segments to add and they’ll be on the site soon. There’s a new Forum, too. We’d love to hear from you, so please post your thoughts there.

A fun side note - Paul Zadie, my wonderful film editor and Webmaster, is getting married next weekend and he wants to drop some weight for his big day. He decided to go 80% raw two weeks ago, which is a big change from his usual diet. So far, he’s dropped 8 lbs. and is hoping to drop another 4 lbs. before saying, “I do.” He’s now strategizing how to resist the Orlando theme park food when his family comes to town this weekend. He said he’s going to have a stash of fresh fruit, dried fruit, nuts, water and Larabars in his backpack. Let’s root Paul on!

My fabulous animator and good friend, Paul Erskine, also became engaged while working on “Supercharge Me!.” He and his fiance haven’t set a wedding date, but I’ll let you know if he goes raw, too. Paul does a fun, interactive improv comedy show in San Francisco called “How We First Met.” Speaking of first meetings, Paul and I had the most unusual first meeting 24 years ago. We were teenagers working in the mall at Eastertime. He was dressed up as the Easter bunny for the children and I was working in the bakery. At every break, he begged me for free cookies in bunny pantomime. A bunny should eat carrots, not cookies, but how could I resist Sir Fluffy?

Two engagements! I gotta tell you, the LOVE surrounding this project is Paul-pable! Sorry…couldn’t help myself ; )

Big News!

May 6th, 2007

Greetings! Because there’s been such a demand, we have decided to make a limited edition, pre-release version of the “Supercharge Me!” DVD available for sale in the near future. The DVD will not be available to the general public; only to those signed up for updates on the site. If you would like to be notified about when this happens, please sign up for updates and you will be among the first to get the news.

In the meantime, we will still be touring universities, film festivals and special events. And we’re also striving to get the movie into art house theaters around the world.

Sarasota Film Festival Was Amazing!

April 25th, 2007

My head is still spinning from the Sarasota Film Festival. After two sold out shows and an ENCORE screening in the biggest theater (280 seats) in the Hollywood 20 multiplex, I’m feeling very excited about moving forward with SUPERCHARGE ME! and taking it to audiences all over the world. I was very happy to receive overwhelmingly positive feedback. We even got some of it on film, which will be posted here on the site soon. LARABAR (the original fruit & nut bar) was a product sponsor, so everyone got to enjoy samples during the movie.

Some highlights:
I was able to get the film into the hands of a few big distributors at the festival. A CBS Radio film reviewer saw the movie and loved it. He said he’d be sending me a review soon. I met so many awesome filmmakers, including Kris Carr & Brian Fassett (Crazy Sexy Cancer), Ingrid Veninger (Hotel Vladivostok), Bob Giovanelli (Tis the Season), Ransom Riggs (Spaceboy) and Simon Reynolds (Uriah). I was interviewed on ABC, SNN and WTSP (Tampa Bay’s 10) television, as well as WMNF and WIBQ Radio. There were articles in the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, Pelican Press, Bradenton Herald and Positive Change Magazine. “Supercharge Me!” is even being considered for a new film festival in gorgeous Portofino, Italy. The events during the 10 days were fantastic and I got to dance with other filmmakers almost every night. What a blast!

Most of all, I’m grateful to all the people who have contributed to the film in so many ways. I couldn’t have done it without my friends and family. And the people I met in San Diego, where much of the film was shot, were so generous in sharing their personal stories of healing. A big thank-you to my Sarasota friends who were a big part of the project and then came out to support it. You are my foundation!

Coming up soon, I will have a lot of great photos and video clips posted here, so stay tuned…
